Vacheron Constantin’s Third Mask Wrist Watch

Les Masques Mask series of Vacheron Constantin wrist watches adopts home-made automatic 2460G4 movement with Poinon de Genève Geneva marking on the dial. The specially designed movement can even tell the time without pointers – with the running of gear wheels, the four sudials respectively shows hour, minute, date, and week. Therefore, you can allocate the mask in the center of the dial and allowsthe craftsmen to give full play of creativity.

Movement has been redesigned to coincide with the mask design. Although the aim of the wrist watch is to show time, the mask is the focus of this series. Therefore, the designers decided to hide the movement. They use a piece of transparant and special-treated glass to create a floating mask. Through unique metallization process, each sapphire layer has different colors to set as a foil to the color of the mask. Micro-mask sculptures seems like within reach, independent of the case, or like a guard who is silently guarding an ancient secret.

In order to endow Vacheron Constantin Les Masques Mask Series wrist watches with different looks, the well-known French writer Michel Butor endeavored to write a wonderful short poet fpr each pattern of wrist watch, making the mask become lively and with sound . Golden characters are surrounding the sapphire crystal glass dial. With spiral arrangement, the characters seem to have no starting point and ending point, which can only be seen when the light launches from a certain angle.

Vacheron Constantin particularly applies the high-tech vacuum metallization process to create this effect, golden characters are sprayed onto the sapphire crystal glass. With a sense of light and transparent interaction, the wearer can enjoy the Vacheron Constantin Les Masques mask series’ mysteries.

The third set of Les Masques series has a limited production of 25 sets in 2009, each containing a set of four watches representing four continents (Americas, Asia, Africa, and Oceania), a total of 100 pieces.
