Vacheron Constantin Historique Wafer-Thin Watch

Vacheron Constantin is really the unsung hero among high and dress watches, but it is too often wallowing in the shadow of Patek Philippe.

Vacheron Constantin celebrated their bicentennial in 1955 and through introducing the thinnest watch available at the time, named the Patrimony. Therefore,the fans of understated dress watches might be glad to know that Vacheron Constantin were released two watches to commemorate the company’s past.

The first one is Historique 1955, that is a hand-wound affair and measures 36mm wide,the thin is only 4.1mm – this is the thinnest mechanical watch available. Equiped with original movement caliber 1003 is only 1,64mm.

The second is Historique 1968, which is slightly heftier at 5,5mm thick. It is caliber 1120 automatic movement watch, which is probably the reason why added weight.
